Fix Auto Rochester today announced a significant step forward in its commitment to workforce development and sustainability, becoming the first bodyshop in the country to implement RWC Training’s new BS 10125 compliant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme, Train to Gain.
The move positions Fix Auto Rochester, part of the 4 Elms Group, at the forefront of the industry, adopting a model that prioritises flexible, relevant training over traditional, repetitive assessment cycles. The new programme is set to deliver substantial gains in efficiency, skill mastery and cost control for the business.
Robert Dearnaley, Managing Director at Fix Auto Rochester, explained the rationale behind the decision:
Adopting Train to Gain was about securing sustainable, future-proof training for our team. No longer are we just assessing technicians, we are up-skilling and complying with the BS 10125 standard at the same time. The ability to spread our training costs monthly, combined with the removal of extensive travel, brings multiple tangible benefits. It helps with cost certainty and provides significant savings on operational costs. Crucially, the reduced travel also directly contributes to our carbon reduction goals. This programme ensures our training investment is sustainable, highly relevant and truly reflective of a forward-thinking business.
Fix Auto Rochester has enrolled 12 technicians onto the programme, spanning 35 individual courses. The comprehensive curriculum covers core and bolt on courses in disciplines including VDA, Panel, Paint, Jig, MET, Wheel Alignment, ADAS, F Gas, EV, Plastics and Glazing. Crucially, 70% of the programme has been customised to Fix Auto Rochester’s specific operational needs, with training is meticulously tailored for maximum impact.
Fix Auto Rochester has successfully completed a thorough onboarding process, which included a detailed walkthrough of the Train to Gain portal, course booking procedures, communication flows, and practical guidance on filming and uploading video evidence for skills validation. RWC Training will manage progress tracking and share monthly reports, ensuring clear priorities and progress visibility. The first official training session for the team is scheduled for January 26.
A pivotel moment for BS 10125 compliance
Matt Mardell, RWC Business Development Director, commented on the adoption:
This is a pivotal moment for RWC Training and a huge step forward for the industry. Our entire effort in building Train to Gain was focused on creating a programme that complies with BS 10125 and works in the real world, delivering tangible, sustainable benefits like cost reduction and carbon reduction. We are incredibly proud to partner with Fix Auto Rochester as our first official customer, and we look forward to supporting them in achieving their goals of upskilling their team and driving genuine business change.
Fix Auto Rochester believes that by implementing Train to Gain, they are not only maintaining strict compliance standards but are actively investing in the long-term career growth and expertise of their technicians.
